Innoltek is proud to announce that it participated in a pilot project with ADM Aéroports de Montréal held during the summer at YMX International Aerocity of Mirabel. The objective of this pilot project was to demonstrate the feasibility of using pure biodiesel in ground-based equipment normally running on conventional diesel fuel. For four months, two tractors in the Mirabel fleet ran on pure biodiesel, at a concentration of 100% (B100). The project went very well and allowed ADM to reduce GHG emissions by 8.7 tons during the summer. Innoltek provided the biodiesel and its support during the project.
Indeed, biodiesel is a renewable fuel made from materials such as recycled cooking oils and animal fats. Biodiesel reduces greenhouse gases by 95% to 98% compared to conventional petroleum diesel. Therefore, it is a good solution for truck fleet operators to improve their environmental performance.
"This is further proof that biodiesel is an effective solution to reduce GHGs easily and quickly. No need to change equipment, just change fuel supply, a form of responsible sourcing," said Simon Doray, CEO of Innoltek. "Pending on the installation of a thermal management system, this project could eventually be extended year-round. Finally, Innoltek is proud to be associated with an organization such as ADM Aéroports de Montréal, which is part of the international reputation and vitality of the city of Montreal and the province of Quebec," he concluded.
