St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, October 9th 2019 - INNOLTEK Inc, a biodiesel and biodegradable industrial products manufacturer reacts to the prepublication of the draft regulation concerning minimal renewable fuel volumes in gasoline and diesel fuels.
Innoltek welcomes the ministry of Energy and Natural Resources' proposed regulation concerning minimal renewable fuel volumes in gasoline and diesel fuels.

This regulation will help reduce greenhouse gases emitted by on-road fuels. However, Innoltek believes that the government is depriving itself of substantial additional reductions of Green House Gases by setting timid targets for the use of biodiesel, an environmentally performing fuel.
“We have been waiting for this measure for a long time. While we are pleased that the government has taken action, the low targets for biodiesel leave us on our appetite," said Simon Doray, Innoltek CEO. "With these too conservative requirements, Quebec society is depriving itself of additional GHG reductions"
Indeed, the biodiesel produced by Innoltek reduces GHGs by 95% compared to conventional diesel. The draft regulation calls for a target of 2% for biodiesel use starting in 2021, it does not represent any increase over the existing regulation at the Canadian level, regulation that has been in place for 10 years.
